Former professional footballer, Anderson Ferreira, who moved to London to work for JPC by Samsic has won the 2020 PFM Team Member Award.
Anderson gave up a professional footballer career in Italy to meet his future wife and explore new adventures in life when he moved to London in 2015. Part of the JPC family since September 2016, he joined the team as Estate Operative responsible for all external cleaning together with another colleague at the company’s Here East contract.
He quickly proved himself and became a Working Supervisor just a year after joining JPC.
Directly responsible for all operational aspects of the external cleaning on the estate and working closely with the management team, Anderson elevated cleaning standards to a level soon noticed by everyone onsite.
In September 2018, with the full support of JPC and Here East, he stepped back from his role to dedicate time to a family member suffering with a serious health issue.
In April 2019 he was promoted to a Non-working Supervisor role and remained in that position until lockdown.
“He’s a remarkable guy with the most fantastic customer services skills,” says Here East JPC Account Manager, Francis Amador. “Everybody here knows him and he them.
“Anderson’s ability to remember people’s names is legendary. Learning new things is never a problem, he is always keen and willing to learn new things whether related to his role or not.
“He is a natural leader and a role model to the team, bringing everyone together to overcome issues by inspiring, directing and supporting one another. It’s a pleasure to see how he engages with the Here East management team helping out on projects and tasks that may be outside his remit yet for which he always brings real value.
“It cannot have been an easy transition, from professional footballer to cleaning operative, having to adjust quickly to a new lifestyle and learn a new language, but Anderson Ferreira showed how it was done, and more.
