Interviewer: Welcome Sylvia to your 70 seconds or so with Samsic.
Just a quick introduction to Sylwia she started with us in 2006 when she was a cleaning operative with JPC by Samsic, working for Chiswick Park, she was quickly promoted to supervisor and team leader then on to contract manager, eventually becoming operations manager, senior operation manager and in 2019 she was made head of operations.
Sylwia: Honestly I did not expect to have a career in the cleaning industry. However, this career has given me so much that I am grateful for.
From the time I started until now the cleaning industry has changed so much due to the importance of customer service, the focus on innovation, and also different ways of working.
Working with a diverse team is also something that motivates me on a day-to-day basis.
This industry is always evolving, always changing, and these factors have really helped me to stay motivated in my role.
Interviewer: How important is the role of training and mentoring in the business?
Sylwia: Training is very important. It has played an important part of my development as I have been able to enhance my skills and knowledge throughout my career.
Understanding my own strengths and weaknesses through training and mentoring has really allowed me to understand what is needed to be successful and to be a leader.
Training and development is very important to us as a business and giving our colleagues the right tools to continue their development has been really really essential not only for their own personal growth but also for the business as we pride ourselves on promoting from within.
Interviewer: Great! Well, Sylwia De Sousa thank you very much for taking 70 seconds or so with Samsic.
